Why you shouldn't do anything 100%?

We are living in a society where everything is expected to happen right at the second you want it. There are also many aspects now, much more than back in the day. We have work life, personal life, friends, family, hobbies, kids...
Many aspects in life at the moment that require our attention and output. You simply cannot rip yourself apart while trying to do 100% in six different things at the same time.  There have been studies that have said that multitasking is a horrible thing to do to yourself. You can not focus properly on any of the things you're doing leading the results quite poor or you being absolute burnt out.

What I think you should do is strive to find a golden medium. A philosophy that I stand by is 80/20. Don't try and give your everything to every single thing you're doing. You need to have something left for you. If you give your all then what's there left of you? For yourself or anyone else?

As an example let's think of a diet. A strict diet only works for a while because eventually, you will want that piece of chocolate or crisps. What if instead of a strict 100% diet you would eat 80% of the time healthy and focus on that, you could (and should) allow yourself a treat for 20% of the time.
Sounds doable, right?

So maybe this could work outside the diet example?
Picture yourself, your daily tasks. Could you maybe tone down a bit, down to 80% from the 100% you're doing now, of the effort and stress you're doing now? How would your day go, could you manage?
I'd love for you to try and leave me comments how did that go and how did you feel.

Almost for the past month, I've been feeling very upbeat energetic and then suddenly a drop. So tired, no energy. I've done almost nothing for this past week, just bee laying on the sofa, scrolling through social media, netflixing. After doing this, basically nothing, and trying to get rid of the guilty feeling of why I'm not doing anything I realized that I had pushed myself too hard.
How ofter do you praise someone else or give advice? Then think when was the last time you said to yourself those same merciful words or praises.

You're good. You're smart. You can do this.

Also when was the last time you said to yourself this is enough? You should have a break. you shouldn't push yourself too hard. Your mind and body are yours and unique. No one else will and can look after them as good as do. So why not do it?

As a summary:
Be merciful to yourself & love yourself.
xoxo

Testing out a FakeBake Flawless Darker Self-Tan Liquid Spray in the colour Dark.
Generally, I hate self-tanners so I was slightly (allright very) biased to test this product, self-tanners are all the same. Or are they?

food diary week 29

I need to eat better and more. I eat too little good food and too much sugary stuff. That's why I decided to start a diary about what I eat during a whole week.
Feels super embarrassing to write everything down that I've eaten, maybe this will work. I'll have to pay more attention now.

Monday
  • latte
  • salad with feta, spinach, arugula, cucumber, tomato, pomegranate, lenses and a slice of pita bread with hummus
  • Suklaapilvi (Chocolate cloud) ice cream cone
  • pasta with tomato sauce and chili tuna (that was terrible, I couldn't even eat half of it)
  • Suklaapilvi (Chocolate cloud) ice cream cone
Tuesday
  • latte
  • toast with avocado mayo, feta, and turkey slices
  • cherry tomatoes and mozzarella with balsamic
  • cucumber
  • honey melon and pomegranate
  • a bit of scrambled eggs with mozzarella and sun-dried tomatoes
  • yogurt and granola
  • Battery energy drink (no sugar)

  • white tea with milk
Wednesday

Thursday
  • two crispbreads (Swedish surskorpor, Finnish hapankorppu) with butter, Pecorino Reggiano, and salami

  • two crispbreads (Swedish surskorpor, Finnish hapankorppu) with butter, Pecorino Reggiano, and salami
  • 0,5l coke

Friday
  • two crispbreads (Swedish surskorpor, Finnish hapankorppu) with butter, Pecorino Reggiano, and salami
  • yesterdays Italian stew

  • Strongbow British Dry cider (I  didn't even finish my glass)
  • Jaffa chocolate cookies (it's been a loong time, I felt I deserved them)
  • Juustonaksuja (Finnish version of Cheetos)
Saturday
  • latte
  • toast with avocado mayo, feta, and turkey slices
  • cherry tomatoes and mozzarella with balsamic
  • cucumber
  • honey melon and pomegranate
  • a bit of scrambled eggs with mozzarella and sun-dried tomatoes
  • yogurt and granola
  • pizza with tuna, parmesan slices, and arugula
  • piccolo bottle of prosecco
  • popcorn
  • coke
  • candy
Sunday
  • latte
  • toast with avocado mayo, feta, and turkey slices
  • cherry tomatoes and mozzarella with balsamic
  • cucumber
  • honey melon and pomegranate
  • a bit of scrambled eggs with mozzarella and sun-dried tomatoes
  • yogurt and granola
  • a glass of Rosé
  • leaf steak with fries
  • a glass of Rosé
  • latte (this means caffe latte, not just milk)
  • yesterdays candy and Jaffa cookies
  • small salad with cucumber, orange pepper, feta cheese and tomato

I surrendered myself to the pleasures of candy and chocolate like totally this week. How do I feel now?  Well, quite bloated actually and a bit heavy. I'm happy that I feel this way because the likeliness of this weeks splurge happening again is slim. Like I hope I'd be, haha. No, that's true though.
Into the new week I go, hope you have a great one! xoxo

What's a Lapland Hotel doing in Tampere?

Visited Tampere and instead of choosing the hotel we normally do we chose Lapland Hotels.
Sounds weird right? A Lappish hotel in a city.
Well, that's at least what I thought. Decided to notch things up and take a suite.
So how did I like the hotel and our suite? Take a look below.

How gorgeous is the lobby? I love the details, the colours. Beautiful work.

I was very very pleased. Such an original decor, still comfy and Lappish themed. The suite has a separate toilet, and a 'uuge bathroom with sauna, two showers, and two sinks.

And would you look at these door signs, they're just awesome.

In general, I think that hotel restaurants are meh but due to the hotel being so extra so far- into the restaurant Dabbal we went.

The, fantastic in my opinion, decor is continued in the restaurant and its menu. I chose a Dabbal's burger and my companion wanted to try the Fell menu (Tunturi menu).

Both got as appetizers home made breads, maltbread and unkneaded bread with dandelion served with brown butter with kuusenkerkkä (some special part/ thing from spruce which I can not find a translation to) and parsnip brown butter soup with rosemary.

Perch for him and glass of sparkling for me.

My burger and his entrecote.

This tiny thing is a called a fresher. A birch sorbet to cleanse your palette.

For dessert rhubarb pudding with elderflower sorbet.
This meal was ah mazing. Our waitress for the evening was Oona, she was superb.

I slept well in our suite, I was happy with everything.

Breakfast is served in this gorgeous high ceilinged room with a three as a centerpiece. We ordered, the normal brekkie includes tea and/ or coffee, for extra 'special cafés' as we say in Finland. There's a chef ready to make your omelets just the way you want.

Overall this hotel and its decor are the coolest I've experienced in a long time. The meals were made with love and with respect to Lappish culture and from hand picked ingredients. The staff was just superb, every single one we met.

I've never been a fan of cold and snow but in a nice hotel like this in Lapland maybe the meeting Santa trip isn't impossible, xoxo
